چکیده

The modeling of tire-soil interaction attracts people from different engineering and basic science communities. In this project, we develop a system which can capture the tire-soil interaction using state of art computer vision techniques in real time. Rather than to build a numerical model which simulating the interaction between tires and deformable surfaces, we will build 3D textured model of the niche of tire-soil friction which will demonstrate the interaction between them. Both stereo and motion information will be utilized to generate the 3D model. Efforts will be made to enhance the accuracy of the surface texture and to accelerate the modeling process thus a sequence of 3-D model can be reconstructed and be displayed.

A Study on the Effects of Waste Rubber Tire Dimensions on Fine-Grained Soil Behavior

Mashhad city is located on alluvial deposits where the expanded area of this city, especially the central and eastern areas surrounding Imam Reza holy shrine, are built on weak and fine-grained deposits. Therefore, the soil improvement would be inevitable due to construction of high-rise buildings such as hotels and commercial complexes in these areas, as well as restructuring old buildin...

Additive Effect of Piriformospora Indica Fungus and Rhodococcus Erythropolis Bacteria on Bio-Remediation of Pyrene in a Pb-Polluted Soil Treated With Tire Rubber Ash

Background and purpose:: This research was conducted to evaluate the effect of Piriformospora indica fungus (P. indica) and Rhodococcus erythropolis (R. erythropolis) bacteria on bio-remediation of pyrene in a Pb-polluted soil that was treated with tire rubber ash. Method: Treatment consisted of applying tire rubber ash at the rates of 0 and 300 mg/kg soil, soil polluted with pyrene at the amo...

Slip-based Traction Control of a Planetary Rover

This paper investigates slip-based traction control of a planetary rover that travels over natural rough terrain. Special attention is made on tire-soil traction mechanics and articulated body dynamics. Experiments are carried out with a rover test bed to understand the physical behavior of tire-soil interaction and, thereby, a traction model is investigated using the tire slip ratio as a state...

Compaction-Based Deformable Terrain Model as an Interface for Real-Time Vehicle Dynamics Simulations

This paper discusses the development of a deformable terrain database to be used in a co-simulation environment with a multibody dynamics vehicle model. The implementation of the model includes a general tire-terrain traction model which is modular to allow for any type of tire model that supports the Standard Tire Interface[1] to operate on the terrain. Rather than utilizing empirical terramec...

Influence of waste tire chips on steady state behavior of sand

Materials such as waste tire chips were widely used to improve the strength of soil. The objective of this study is to discuss the residual strength or steady-state behavior of sand-waste tire chip mixtures. A series of undrained monotonic triaxial compression tests were conducted on reconstituted saturated specimens of sand and sand-tire chip mixtures with variation in the tire-chip contents f...
